Futaba was introduced to Akechi shortly after her Mom died after Shido found out she was his too. She joined the black mask team as the tech wiz behind the computer, before she got trusted enough to join the metaverse. She ran across the Phantom Thieves first, gaining their trust after she offers some navigation experience. She feeds information to Akechi and they decide to try and recruit the leader to join their plan to take down their father, but the team must be left behind. Futaba is the one to betray them this time.
